This nonfiction picture book uses a playful guessing game to introduce eight different ocean animals and some unique aspects of their bodies.
First off I loved loved loved this cover! I love turtles so I maybe partial but LOVED!!! Besides the cover, the illustrations were wonderful in this book. Kwanchai Moriya will be an artist that I look for in the future.
As for the content, the small blurbs of info on each animal were perfect to keep the attention of small children and to give older children enough information to spark an interest.
This book would be a perfect addition to a ocean unit or even a jumping board for children to become interested in ocean animals.
You could do many different extension activities with the ocean theme as a whole or for each individual animal. Great book!
