Rick Kennedy feels good. Tonight there's going to be the party of the decade, the brother he hasn't seen for years has just flown in, and Rick is all set to do something about Kate Robinson, the beautiful girl he just can't get out of his mind. This was a strange ride. It took me a bit to actually understand what was happening because there is so much yet so little going on. The action comes in spurts for almost the entire first half of this book. The characters are hard to relate with especially with some weird sex scenes that seem to come from left field at times. That was a weird part for me. Some parts were down right creepy and nasty.
Seriously I think I looked like this reading it...

However, once I looked past those parts, the actual plot of the book was really good. Not that I am surprised too much because I did love Simon's other book Blood Crazy and there are a lot of similarities to it in this book. Simon Clark seems to really be able to get at the horrible side of human nature...not sure what that says about him but it makes for fun, scary and traumatizing stories. I'd say if you can handle the blood, gore and questionable sex scenes then give this one a try!
