Ok so in the name of the title I have decided to do this one a little different....

Ten things I loved about this book:

1.I loved the writing. I found myself getting lost in the descriptions of things.

2. I loved the family dynamics. I don't want to spoil anything but the interactions are wonderful.

3. I loved that there were flaws in the characters. No one is perfect in this book...no one.

4. I loved the slow build of this book. The true purpose of this story takes a while to get into.

5. I loved the crazy statistics that Maeve pulls out. I started to feel paranoid thinking of all the possible dangers around me.

6. I loved the love interest. No spoilers but I felt the butterflies.

7. I loved sibling love in this book. It made me smile.

8. I loved the growth of the characters..well most of them.

9. I loved that bad things happened. I was expecting this neat put together story but it isn't neat...it is messy but wonderful.

10. I loved the cover. Seriously, it is simple but so pretty!

So, now...

10 things I didn't like.

1. The main character never felt finished to me. She was so young in her actions but was supposed to be older and I just felt she was missing something.

2. I wanted more. I felt this book had more to offer. I think that doing some side stories like in The Sun is Also A Star would have taken this book to the next level. I wanted more from small side characters...like the neighbor, mom's boyfriend, the mean boys, even the lifeguard.

3. I didn't like that the mother. I just didn't.

4. I didn't like the brothers interactions. I felt like those needed to be more flushed out.

5. I didn't like the lack of anger from Claire over the actions of the Dad. I felt there would have been more anger.

6. I didn't like the ending....I wanted more...like that happened at the end of the six months!

7. I didn't enjoy the backstory drama...I just felt like it was so unimportant.

8. I didn't like the grandma...I mean seriously get some damned booster seats!

9. I didn't like ...ok well crap I can't come up with anymore...so

10. nothing else

Ha!

Ok, seriously, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was a good read. Not perfect but good. I liked it.
