My 10 Reading Quirks

I am weird.

I accept it.

So, besides being just generally weird, I also have some weird reading quirks... 

So I give you...

My 10 Reading QUIRKS

#1 I can only stop at a new chapter

I can't help it...I physically can't just stop mid-chapter. I just have to finish that section. It doesn't matter if i keep falling asleep or dinner is burning...must finish the chapter!

#2 I can't handle dog-eared pages

Just no...use a receipt, string, leaf, unused tissue, anything (well within reason). I just think about the beautiful injured book. It makes me angry then sad. 

#3 I hate dust covers on my books

Let me clarify...the books I own. The first thing I do is take them off and I have to admit that I don't always put them back on. So why don't I like them...well they just get in my way. They fall off and make the book awkward to hold. I just find them annoying. Ugh.

#4 I can't read a book out of order in a series...and if I start a book in the series I have to read them all

#5 I can't handle it when I find writing in library books

I think this goes back to hurting the beautiful works of art for me. Plus it bugs me because I want to hear from the author when I read and not some random reader. It is distracting. 
#6 If I really like a book I will buy all of the author's other books and read them in a row until I find one that I don't like as much and then take a break

This one is rough for me because honestly I would do this with every author that I even mildly enjoy but the funds aren't there. There are a few authors that I still need to do this with but I have a list...so your day will come my friend. 
#7  I randomly make lists of book I want to read for when I get into a slump via GIPHY

I listen to podcasts, talk to my favorite librarians, and check out all the goodread lists to find books that interest me and then I put them aside. When I get into a slump I grab a list and go!

#8 I don't like to read more than one book at a time

I get distracted and confused if I try to actively read more than one book at a time. If I start one and then start another I will end up reading one of them straight through and then restarting the other one. 
#9 I will not watch the movie if I haven't read the book.

If I know there is a book then I will avoid to movie or show at all costs until I read the book. Seriously, I don't care how bad I want to watch it...I can't!
#10 My weirdest quirk. Some lines in books make me break out in song. 
If I read about tear streaming down someones face

• When two characters are about kiss or have a almost kiss: Sixpence None the Richer- Kiss Me 
• Bondage: Rihanna- S&M
• Bad Boy rolls in: The Troggs-Wild Thing
• The scene is setting for romance- Barry White- Let's Get it On

So I tend to sing these in my head but if I am really into a book and not around a lot of people I have been know to quietly sing them aloud. 

Like I said...I'm weird.
