After a cyber bullying incident turns her life upside down, a handsome wheelchair rugby player shows a former mean girl that everyone deserves a second chance.
I'm not going to lie. I have read a lot of great books here recently. I wanted this book to be great and in some ways it was great but over all it was just ok.
First of the things I enjoyed :
- I loved that the characters are flawed,
- I love that it isn't easy for the characters.
- I love that there is a lot of growth in this book.
- I love the easy discussion of the characters disabilities and the normalization of them.
But...
I have a list of things that I just didn't get or enjoy...
- Nikki's parents! Seriously, I get she messed up big! I get that you are mad but she is your child...talk to her got flip sake! Ugh...that really really bugged me especially since her mom works with children! GEEZ!
- The lack of accountability of the other girls. I wanted to smack ppl...seriously.
- The rush of romance...yeah I know but it seemed so unnatural for me.
- The description of Pax. The focus on his body, especially upper body and not really the lower body as much...it seemed awkwardly written.
I know I might be nit-picky but that's what I took from this one. Now, even with all that I did enjoy it. I liked it a lot and I'd still say it is a good read but not a LOVE from me.
