In Diversity there is Beauty and there is Strength.

Diversity.
What is diversity?

The definition, according to Merriam-Webster, is the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc or the state of having people who are different races or who have different cultures in a group or organization.

So what is diverse reading?

In short, reading about someone different than you! Different race, culture, ideas, sexuality, religion, etc. Different than what you are used to.

BUT, but, but....why? Why should I read diverse books?

Honestly, I think reading diverse books allows you to walk in someone else's shoes. When you read about someone different from yourself you learn. You open your mind to the world around you. You begin to see that we are all different in some aspects but we also are alike in others.

So why am I talking about this now?

Well today I am talking about this because of  #DiverseAThon which you can learn more about here:

So my next few reviews will be focusing on diverse books and I will be especially looking at some diverse children's book too.

So if this has sparked your interest then check out
#DiverseAThon on twitter and check out We Need Diverse Books

Branch out and read on people! :)
