Wow, for such a small book this book makes a big impact. Set in the future...but honestly probably not too much further in the future, the world is dark and grey. There is only a little patch of grass and one last tree. The boy in the story must take action...can he save the last tree?
This one is bittersweet because it is very foretelling of how our world is going. It would be an excellent book to start the conversation of Earth Day or conservation. I can see many extension activities coming from this. Maybe even a good one to read for Arbor Day!
