I swear that this book was written for me. I mean everything I love is in this book well almost but it is pretty freaking close!
Best friends, a comic-con, pop culture references, JOHN HUGES, and DUCKIE!!!! Ok, I know that none of this stuff actually happened but oh man...it was like actually being there with with the cast of Pretty in Pink...which is pretty awesome just to think about.
So as you can already tell I don't really have any negatives about this one. Well I do have one small thing but nothing major.
This has to be the best book I have read depicting fandoms, fans and comic cons in general. The descriptions and the events were perfect. The excitement and the mad rush for lines are spot on. It was like actually being at a con instead of reading about it. I loved that.
I really enjoyed the characters and the dynamics between them. It really felt like a group of close friends (think saved by the bell or St. Elmo's Fire). They each brought something different to the group and still had each other's backs even when not seeing eye to eye. It gave me that warm comfy feeling.
My only complaint, and it is trivial, was the end. I just wanted more. I wasn't ready for it to end.
