This is a visually exquisite book. Just looking through the pictures is an experience. The illustrations are breathtaking and moving. The story, in addition to the wonderful artwork, creates a near masterpiece. This book manages to bring the fiction and nonfiction together. It merges fantasy and science perfectly. I don't have a negative thing to say about this one.
For educational purposes, this book reaches a multitude of levels. It is a cute story for a read-aloud, it is a great book to spawn off into a conversation about space and science. It is a wonderful history jumping point to discuss the mission to the moon. There are so many options on how to utilize this work in a classroom. I really loved this book!
