I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I originally read the blurb for this book. I mean churches, demons, and secrets. It very well could have been like every other YA demon book I've read but I soon realized that I had started reading something different, something wonderful!
In the start of the book, we are dropped into a world different than our own.
A world that has been taken over by the demons and is now protected by the church. That immediately drew me in and from there twists and turns just kept coming.
I so enjoyed the set up to every twist. I honestly don't think I guessed anything that was going to happen in this duology. That was refreshing and kept me on my toes. I especially loved how the characters developed and grew from page one. Rachel Vincent has definitely moved onto my favorite author list.
