Fun fact: the first ebook that I ever purchased was Amanda Hocking's Switched. I loved it and have devoured all of her books since then. So when I found out that she was writing a story about a freak show with a traveling carnival that was set in the 80's, well I was all
I mean Amanda Freaking Hocking writing about a freak show with an 80's setting! It is just perfect...so very very perfect.
I totally inhaled this book in one sitting. I loved the characters, and the setting, the strange, and all that came with it but...somehow it seemed to be missing something. I am not exactly sure what was missing but it just didn't feel as pulled together as the rest of Amanda's books have been in the past. The scenes that were supposed to be intense just didn't get to that point. The romance seemed too much too fast. It just didn't flow.
Now don't get me wrong. I think you should read it. I mean it is Amanda Hocking and I still think she could write a bread recipe and make it interesting.The paranormal crazy is worth it and the story is solid enough to be enjoyed. So don't skip it...just know going in it that this one crazy reader found it not 100% amazing.
